EVEN HUMMINGBIRDS REST
A JOUNREY OF PERMISSION, STRENGTH AND HEALING
Almost 25 years ago to the day, a single moment changed my life. A car accident that seemed insignificant at the time set me on a journey of healing—physically, mentally, and emotionally, that still lasts today. Only over the last few years, I’ve learned that true healing requires effort, resilience, and a willingness to prioritize oneself, even if it means stepping back from things that matter. It’s a difficult and delicate process, not an overnight transformation, and one that demands both determination and self-kindness.
Hummingbirds, symbols of joy, resilience and healing have always inspired me. Despite their tireless energy, even they must pause to rest and recharge. This show is a reflection of that truth—that healing requires us to stop, reflect, and give ourselves permission to focus on what truly matters.
Each textural artwork in this exhibition captures the essence of perseverance and positivity, inviting viewers to get lost in the intricate layers while finding space to reflect and plan the next steps in their own journey. I want this show to feel like a warm hug while offering the gentle encouragement you might need to take flight toward a healthier, happier version of yourself.
This online version of Even Hummingbirds Rest is designed as a quiet path—a series of “rest stops” where you can linger, reflect, and allow the art to speak to you.
I want you to leave this show feeling inspired, empowered, and hopeful—a reminder that, just like hummingbirds, we all need to pause so we can soar again.
